Description

Uffizi through the ages The gallery is an eternal dispute between antiquity and modernity. During the tour, you will not only admire the paintings, but understand the symbolism of great works. Our journey will begin with the halls of the Middle Ages, where you will see one of the masterpieces of Giotto, an artist who has departed from the canons of traditional painting and is comparable in innovation to Picasso. We ll see also the Adoration of the Magi by Gentile da Fabriano and reveal the secret of the customer of this great painting. Studying the works of the portrait painter Piero della Francesco, you will hear curious stories about the women's fashion of the time and the virtues that wives and husbands of old were supposed to have. You will also learn about the incredible adventures of Filippo Lippi, favorite of Cosimo the Old, and you will see portraits of his wife, son and the artist himself. The geniuses of Caravaggio, da Vinci and Botticelli In two rooms dedicated to Botticelli, I will talk about the reign of Lorenzo the Magnificent and the artist's muse. And the picture 'Slander' will show you how ignorance sometimes prevents you from seeing the truth. In the Leonardo da Vinci Hall we will see three works by the great artist. You will learn why he painted only 23 paintings and how to unravel the optical illusion in the masterpiece 'The Annunciation'. And I will also show the shield with the head of the Gorgon Medusa by Caravaggio and explain how it is connected with the Medici family.
