Description

Depart from Florence on a full-day tour to the Bolgheri wine country. This is where the Tuscan wine revolution began in the late 1960’s and early 1970’s with wineries taking a more open minded and ultra high quality approach to winemaking in the region. Accompanied by a sommelier and a expert guide, discover the region famous for its medieval hamlets and lush countryside, lined with cypress trees, olive groves, and vinyards. Get ready for a day tour to discover some of the best mold-breaking Tuscan wines. Explore the world of Bolgheri and see what it takes to make the famous Super Tuscan wines. At first, these wines were punished for their unconventional, bold blend of grape varieties that were not indigenous to Italy. Later on, their quality was recognized and the rules actually changed to suit them!
