After viewing the scenic and iconic Ponte Vecchio (Old Bridge) on the Arno river, you'll continue to the enormous Piazza Santa Croce. In Roman times, this place was used to execute heretics, but the square now boasts numerous charming boutiques. The Galleria dell'Academia is one of the top museums in Florence mainly because it is the home to Michelangelo's David sculpture.
