Excellent service, food and location. The best part is the view of the glowing Ponte Vecchio at sunset. The menu was delicious from start to finish. Shout out to Sally for being so attentive, friendly and knowlegeable about the food from the Tuscany region. I wish I can eat here everyday of my trip to Florence.
We stumbled upon this restaurant by accident. The atmosphere was welcoming and the food was excellent but what made it outstanding was the service provided by Alessio and Sally. Sally greeted us when we first arrived, while Alessio showed us to our table. Alessio patiently answered our questions and made excellent suggestions for our meal. He and Sally checked on us throughout our time eating and made sure our table was taken care of. The food tasted great and arrived hot and in a timely matter. Personally, I think we were given one of the best tables with a view. I highly recommend Golden View Osteria al Ponte Vicchio and definitely plan on going back! PS: all of our selections were great by my personal favorite and was the Rigatoni alla Carbonara con tartufo di stagione - absolutely delicious!
Stunning view and I was really excited to see a seafood focused menu in Florence. I want to start with the positives. We were given a table by the window with a gorgeous view of the river and Ponte Vecchio. The starters were all really good. I had a lovely espresso martini. And the saffron risotto with veal and bone marrow was rich and flavourful. Skip the sea urchin pasta - it didn’t have any visible sea urchin in the dish and was quite bland. Unfortunately, the service was very disappointing. The waiter only asked my dad how things were throughout the meal and never asked me or my mum about the food. We also had a discount through booking with the fork but they didn’t believe me so I had to show the manager on my phone as proof. This all really soured the experience. It was also my mum’s birthday which I noted in the reservation but they didn’t do anything special for it. Please work on improving service for future customers. We had amazing service everywhere else in Florence so this really stood out as a weakness of this restaurant.
We had a phenomenal experience. 10/10 Sally was our waitress and we are so grateful for it. We knew we wanted the Florentine steak. We asked for a wine recommendation, and Sally gave us an incredible Florentine wine that paired very well- based off of structure, age and flavor palette that fell within our budget. The wine surface was really beautiful with three wine glasses that she used to ensure that our glasses were properly coded and aerated before the full glass was poured We also wanted pasta and had something in mind, but she directed us to a more balanced flavor. That also paired extremely well with the Florentine steak. After dinner, she asked us about dessert and explained all of the dessert options in a very special way. The dessert we had was phenomenal and one of the best desserts we’ve had in a long time. We thoroughly enjoyed our experience here and would love to come back again. Definitely hope you get Sally as your waitress!
Great atmosphere, service, view, and food! Really enjoyed the Lamb Chops with Mashed Potatoes with Artichoke accompanied by a smokey old fashioned. The deserts were also delicious. We tried the lemon raspberry tart, tiramisu, and chocolate flan. My favorite was the tiramisu because it was so light and smooth. The chocolate flan was also pretty incredible bc it was basically a very warm dark chocolate soufflé with a scoop of ice cream. Yum. The staff was also very nice and attentive.
