Il Bacaro fiorentino
Florence
En un coup d'œil
Avis
We have been in Italy for awhile now, and this was the best meal we’ve had. It’s obvious everything is fresh and made in house. The gnocchi was the best I’ve ever had. I had pork cheek which was so delicious. There was an asparagus and fondue flan which my wife said, “This is the best thing I’ve ever eaten”. I know some places ask for reviews and try to drive up their ratings that way. This place did not. It’s authentic, it’s delicious, and if you are looking for a place on Florence that just had amazing food, reasonable prices, and a staff that cares about what they serve, then go here.
4/5 Stars Il Bacaro Fiorentino was recommended to us by one of the managers at our hotel in Florence. He frequents the restaurant himself and is friends with the chef, so he spoke very highly of it. Our hotel concierge kindly made the reservation for us, and it was about an 8-minute walk from our hotel. We visited on a Sunday evening at 8:00 PM. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating. When we arrived, there was a live band performing outside. While the atmosphere was lively, we were hoping for a quieter dinner where we could easily converse, so we asked to be seated indoors away from the music. The staff accommodated our request and seated us in the back dining area with a few other couples and a group of four. The biggest issue during our visit was the service. Florence was experiencing a heatwave during our stay, and the restaurant did not have the air conditioning running, making the dining room quite warm. More importantly, the pacing of service was extremely slow. We arrived at 8:00 PM, and our appetizer did not arrive until 8:40 PM. Our main courses followed about 35 minutes later. The restaurant was not completely full, so the delays were surprising. Throughout the evening, we noticed several tables trying to get the attention of the waitstaff. Some diners were waving their hands, and one group even stood up to find a server. Perhaps the outdoor tables required more attention, but from our perspective, service was clearly struggling that evening. That said, the food was excellent. The standout dish was the branzino, which was cooked beautifully and absolutely delicious. The quality of the food made it clear why the restaurant has such a good reputation. Afterward, we mentioned our experience to the hotel manager who had recommended the restaurant. He was genuinely apologetic, and we made sure to tell him that the food itself was very good. Il Bacaro Fiorentino has a talented kitchen and serves memorable dishes; with more attentive and efficient service, it could easily be an outstanding dining experience.
This place is a hidden treasure near the train station. The service from the owner and staff was top-notch, and the food was absolutely superb. Having dinner with live music in the background added such a romantic touch to our trip. If you are visiting Florence, you must check this place out. I can’t wait to come back!
Beautiful and marvelous and absolutely delicious! My wife almost asked to marry the Chef. The Florentine steak is moist, tender - at medium/rare such a delight. Andrew's recommendations for the risotto and pasta is spot on
I can’t rave about this place enough. It’s one of the best restaurants I’ve ever been to and the best Italian food I’ve ever eaten. My husband and I were recommended this restaurant by our concierge. The food was outstanding and exceptional. The flavors were absolutely to die for. Every bite was of everything we ordered was outstanding. The staff were so attentive and so pleasant and friendly. The atmosphere was cozy, clan, and hip. Definitely recommend this place.
