Lo Scudo Ristorante toscano

This is a must visit restaurant in Florence. As vegetarians, we appreciated the variety and clear labels on the menu. The staff were all very friendly and helped ensure we had a great dining experience. They took time to answer our questions, clarify menu items, and guide our wine selection. The atmosphere, inside, is well decorated with a mixture of wine, Tuscan countryside, and quirky decor items. It is air conditioned and was quiet during our dinner. The food, however, was a highlight. We started with the vegetarian tasting plate. This was a delicious treat with small canapes style tastings of bread with local vegetable toppings. Then we ordered individual courses: Gnudi di ricotta e spinaci, Trofie al pesto, Pici al ragout di anatra e cacao magro, and Ribollitta. Everything was very well prepared with tender, fresh pasta and we'll crafted sauces with a great balance of herbs. We were able to taste the creaminess of the butter and the great quality olive oil. Of our time I'm Italy, this has been one of the best meals for the group of us. Don't miss Lo Scudo, it is close to key sites and a great place away from the busy plazas.
Absolutely incredible experience. Just steps away from the duomo, you can have the best florentine steak cooked to perfection. The owner a staff were incredibly welcoming and everything from the wine, antipasti, entrees to dessert (incredible homemade tiramisu!!) was beyond expectation. Do not miss this place
We stopped for snacks and drinks and fell in love with the staff and decided to come back for dinner. The food was amazing! We had pasta and steak and it was all fantastic. One of the owners, Federico was very hospitable and visiting with all the guests and made sure our meal was memorable. If you are in the area, visit them you will be so glad!
👍 Best Florentine T-bone steak! Tender and cooked to perfection! Tasty marinated mushrooms Friendly, accommodating service 👎 Lasagna was tasty but very heavy
Omg! What a delicious gem right next to the Duomo. Do yourself a favour and eat on the small bench outside the restaurant on a sunny day , it gives a nice view of the Dome, and makes the experience so much better. Alessandro was amazing at suggesting great food, a great glass of wine, and even provided limoncello on the house after the meal. 🤩 The house steak, mushrooms and spaghetti al e olio! Truly delicious! Nothing bad to say about this place, I would definitely go back!
