Our dinner turned out to be a true gourmet experience. The fried calamari and shrimp menu, as well as the steak menu were outstanding. The starters and desserts were equally excellent. We especially loved the berry cheesecake and the chestnut panna cotta with caramel. The wonderful atmosphere was made even better by the fantastic staff. Special thanks to Sindy and Fati for their friendliness and professionalism, which were appreciated even by our 2yrs old son :). We highly recommend this place!
Absolutely unforgettable experience! The staff was knowledgeable, kind, and fun! The meal was one of the best I’ve ever had. It was a bucket list item for one person in our party to have a true Florentine steak, and this little place delivered. It was not our first choice when we ventured out for the night, but it should have been! We felt like we were sitting in someone’s kitchen, getting a home cooked, authentic Tuscan meal. If I am ever fortunate enough to find my way back to Florence, this will be on the itinerary.
No music? No problem. The tasting menus are the way to go, although the server up-charged us 6 euros from the listed price of €99 to €105 for no reason. Still worth it. It's plenty of delicious food for three. Great for large parties too! The best desserts I had on this trip!
Nice authentic Italian restaurant. The waitress was only on her third day, and so can be forgiven for a little slow in serving and making a mistake with the bill. All rectified without issue. But it’s the food that hit the spot. Portion sizes were adequate and didn’t overwhelm when served. I went gnocchi in tomato and mozzarella sauce, while my wife went for the pappardelle with duck. While she preferred my dish, both were good enough to recommend this restaurant. The fact that locals were eating here added to the authentic vibe.
I had an excellent dinner at Gladius and I’m so glad we chose it. I started with the tuna tartare, which was absolutely spectacular – fresh, perfectly seasoned, and full of flavor. It was one of the best I’ve had in Rome. Next came the potato and octopus salad, another standout dish. Both plates were served in a very beautiful and elegant way, making the whole experience even more enjoyable. Everything was top quality, the flavors were outstanding, and the presentation was lovely. The service was attentive and the atmosphere pleasant. Definitely worth a visit!
