I must share this. We went to this restaurant after hearing so much about it but unfortunately,at that time they couldn't accomodate anyone without reservation. The manager (Valentino) told us to come after an hour and they could do something. We arrived later than an hour and apparently, it was too late and the kitchen was closing. Upon requesting, Valentino said that we could have a drink and they could help us with maybe, a salad. We got a table and in 5 minutes or so, he came and informed us that we could even have the pasta that we had been wanting to. Lo and behold! the serving staff (again, extremely warm & friendly) served us our food- salad and pasta alongwith a fine wine. The meal finished with the most delicious Tiramisu that we have ever had. So here's a heartfelt Thanks to Valentino and the serving staff that night. Your hospitality alongwith the yummy food made it an evening to cherish forever. 😊💫

We had a wonderful experience at Osteria del Giglio during our time in Florence. The restaurant is beautifully situated right on a charming corner, and the warm, atmospheric interior completely fits the historic vibe of the city. There was a great selection of music playing, which really added to the cozy ambience, even if it was a little bit too loud at times. What made it special, though, was the incredible hospitality. The staff was very friendly and helpful throughout the time. A few minor things were accidentally forgotten, but the team's genuine warmth, hospitality, and willingness to stop by for a nice chat completely made up for it. To top off an already lovely afternoon, they even treated us to a round of limoncello on the house at the end of our meal. As for the food, it was simply spectacular. Every dish felt authentic and beautifully prepared. The fresh, homemade pasta and rich ragù were outstanding, and the gnudi, traditional Tuscan ricotta dumplings, were absolutely delicious and melted in your mouth. The absolute highlight, however, was the typical Bistecca alla Fiorentina, which was cooked to absolute perfection and was a massive hit at our table. If you are looking for an intimate, incredibly welcoming spot with phenomenal local food in Florence, osteria del giglio is highly recommended!

Service was super attentive! Slah and their staff was very kind. Made the experience even more elevated. We got a sliced beef steak with gorgonzola and walnuts and it was cooked perfectly (medium rare). Rigatoni carbonara was also really good. Tiramisu was THE HIGHLIGHT. I think it’s in my top personal favs for sure, a must order!

Nina was absolutely wonderful. Food was perfect. Steak was the best we’ve ever had in our Italy trip so far. It was possibly 2.5 inches thick and cooked to a perfectly juicy medium rare. The rest of the dishes we got as an accompaniment to the steak were also amazing: the veal osso bucco, truffle pasta, pici al ragù, and the various other sides, perfectly complimented it. Would definitely recommend this place to anyone in the vicinity of the Duomo and its environs looking for a Tuscan/Florentine steak experience.

An absolute gem in Florence, worth every Euro! We visited as a group of 4 and had a phenomenal dining experience, paying €189 in total (including cover charge and drinks). To start, they generously offered us 4 complimentary bruschettas as a gesture—they were absolutely delicious. For the main, we ordered the Chianina T-bone steak. It was magnificent. Since it’s cut very thick, the core remained quite rare, but the staff kindly brought us a hot plate so we could sear the remaining pieces to our liking. A brilliant touch! We paired the meat with the mushroom tagliolini (absolutely incredible, a personal favorite) and the roasted potatoes, which were perfectly seasoned. Note on the "Insalata dell'orto": it is not a green leafy salad, but rather a fresh mix of tomatoes, cucumbers, onions, and cheese—simple but good. We wrapped up the night with 2 Americanos, 1 espresso, and a Tiramisu. The tiramisu was unique; the ladyfingers were barely noticeable, making it heavily cream-dominant, but still very tasty. The atmosphere inside is beautiful, though it can get a bit loud due to the crowd. The waiters were exceptionally cheerful, welcoming, and helpful. Overall, a flawless experience. I would gladly come back again and again!
