Reviews
The food was absolutely fantastic. The steak is so flavorful and juicy. The Gnochi with pesto might have been the best pasta we’ve had in Italy so far. Wonderful very reasonably priced wine list. Loved the service team. Just a bit warm inside but otherwise great atmosphere.
Absolutely outstanding. The lasagna was hands down the best I’ve ever had, and the carbonara was just as incredible—rich, perfectly cooked, and full of flavour. The service was excellent from start to finish, making us feel genuinely welcome. The atmosphere was the cherry on top, with someone playing the accordion across the road, creating the perfect Italian dining experience. It felt so authentic and made the whole evening even more memorable. If I lived in Italy, I’d honestly eat here every day! Trust the reviews—you won’t regret checking this place out.
I was looking for an authentic restaurant with homemade tiramisu and a warm, welcoming atmosphere — and I finally found it! I had the peperoncino pasta, a glass of white wine from San Gimignano, and the tiramisu. My compliments to the chef for the excellent cuisine. The pasta was perfectly balanced: rich in garlic and flavor, yet light and not heavy at all. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious and freshly made, unlike many places in central Florence — even some of the highest-rated ones — where it often tastes frozen. The staff was also kind, attentive, and genuinely caring. A wonderful experience that I highly recommend!
The food, service, and atmosphere were all amazing. We shared the steak for one with potatoes and the tagliatelle al ragù, both were delicious and perfectly prepared. Finished our meal with a yummy tiramisu. Enjoying our meal with a view of the Duomo down the street made the experience even more special. Our server was incredibly kind and attentive throughout the entire visit. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone visiting!
Dining at Ristorante Il Giglio d’Oro was an unforgettable experience and easily one of the highlights of our time in Florence. The standout was the Chianina tomahawk steak absolutely phenomenal. Perfectly cooked, incredibly tender, and packed with rich, authentic flavor, it was one of the best steaks I’ve ever had. What truly elevated the meal, though, was the exceptional service. The staff was attentive, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about the food and experience they provide. They made us feel like honored guests from start to finish. If you’re in Florence, Italy and looking for a memorable meal, this place is a must especially if you appreciate a world-class steak paired with top-notch hospitality!
