Came here by chance after the place we had reserved cancelled our reservation. Thank goodness they cancelled because this place was absolutely amazing. The atmosphere is lovely, the staff are delightful and the food was amazing. We were unsure as to what to order and asked for recommendations from the waitress (who was lovely as well) and she recommended a pasta for us and the beef stew. We also had the burrata and tomato for starter which was delicious. The provided bread had a large variety of different kinds and all were delicious. The pasta was wonderful and the stew was probably the best I’ve ever had. The wine paired with it as well. For desert we shared a tiramisu and it was beautiful. To top it all off we ordered 2 cappuccinos and were then greeted with complimentary Limoncello after finishing those. We’ve visited Rome, Napoli, Florence, Venice and Orvieto on our trip around Italy and I can honestly say this was the best food I’ve had since we’ve been here. Would highly recommend to anyone.
Daniel was the most amazing and hospitable man, he was a great host and served us the best food we had in Florence. We had the most amazing experience and hope everyone can find the laugh and joy like we did at Trattoria pale doro.
This Trattoria is spectacular. My 2 grown daughters and I have tried many places in Florence and they were all good in different ways - service, prices, ambience, and of course quality and presentation of food. We had the sea bass, the beef stew, and the truffle tagliatoni, and they were each superb. This place has all the qualities wrapped up in one. We got the "recommendation" from Lonely Planet.
The restaurant has a 4.6 rating on Google, which is why we chose it. The service was good, but we were disappointed with the food. We ordered the Florentine steak with spinach and capers. The steak was acceptable, though a bit too salty. The spinach, however, was extremely salty and inedible. In addition, the olive oil did not taste fresh. We shared our disappointment with the waitress, and she deducted €11.60 from the bill.
Had the spaghetti carrier-style, risotto and grilled chicken thigh for dinner. My favourite meal in Florence! Thanks!
