Antica Trattoria da Tito dal 1913
Florence
Recensioner
We showed up at 230pm and were welcomed right in with our small pup. Food was delicious, especially the Florentine cake dessert…INCREDIBLE. Tito talks a lot of crap about American tourist which is fun and you can sign the walls…lots of character in the place. Staff were all attentive and happy, highly recommend.
This place is such a vibe! Not only because of its unique character and interior, but also because of the food and the stuff. One of the best services we have ever experienced, really quick and fun. We were served by few people and everything was so smooth and each of them was so so nice! While waiting for our food we got a starter for the wait for free, also at the end we got some home made limoncello - so so good! Besides, delicious main we also had tiramisu and that was the best tiramisu we ever had. Me and my partner wanted to find a place in Florence that we can call “ours” and we found it! So thank you Tito!
Positive things first: The atmosphere at Antica Trattoria da Tito was fantastic—great vibes. The meat was full of flavor, and the house wine was excellent. Also plus point is the manager in the google reviews, he doesn’t give generic corporate replies; he defends his business with a personal touch and real conviction. It feels they stand to what they do. And the critics: On the downside, the meat we had was quite chewy, even though it might be a special breed—personally, I would have preferred at least two or three doneness options (like rare, medium, and well-done) instead of just the one approach. Additionally, the sides and appetizers lacked seasoning. We ordered a vegetable side—spinach, beans, broccoli—but it was just plain, boiled veggies with no seasoning at all. Even the appetizers felt a bit overrated—I get that they want to stay traditional, but that doesn’t mean it has to be so plain.
Excellent, fun unique place to enjoy food and drink! Like the sign says the staff will crack a joke so play along if you can and have fun. Food was great from the pecorino and mushrooms appetizer to the polenta with ragu’ and mushrooms. The pastas we had were excellent!! Taglierini with tomato and ricotta, paccheri with stracchino cheese, pappardelle with wild boar ragu and rabbit ragu pici….all so so good! Lastly the grilled fillet steak with lard and truffle…very very good, just great! The wine was also very good we have a bottle Rosso Di Montalcino Col D’Orcia.
Honestly best food I had in Florence, reservation strongly recommended!! We came here with a "reservation" at 1:30pm but it wasn’t really confirmed, since we didn’t text them our phone number. The coordination was a bit of a hustle especially since everyone the cassa is right by the door, people were paying, walking in and out… After explaining the situation, the guy offered us a table for 2pm - we were very grateful! We ordered three dishes: Ribollita soup, Pappardelle with Wild Boar & the Florentine T-Steak. Plus Tiramisu at the end. The three of us shared everything and came up to 36€ pp - we were full for sure. In the beginning, before we had the reservation, the "manager" was quite hectic and not so smiley, so it was surprising that later on he and the rest of the staff was quite friendly. Food came very fast too! It was DELICIOUS! 🍝 And love how they keep the traditions and also remind you of those. It’s quite small in there and you sit close together but that’s fine, since the restaurant is so popular and the food compensated for the atmosphere. We also received free Limoncello shots at the end :)
