Meet your greeter at Termini station and with their help, board a high-speed train to reach Florence quickly, saving lots of time. Upon arrival, your guide will welcome you and give you information about the optional activities in Florence — you can even add a last-minute tour of Accademia and Uffizi galleries. You will then learn about the Medici Family and their intrigues in Florence during a gourmet walking tour, where you also discover the most typical street food Florence can offer. The Medici story began when they migrated to Florence from a little town in Tuscany. Through banking, commerce, and religious influence, the Medici Family became one of the most powerful families in Florence. While learning this history you will taste some of the best products of the Florentine food culture such as a Gottino (glass of Chianti wine), a selection of traditional Salami, as well as a delicious home-made Gelato. Your professional guide will escort you on a tour across years of history, safely preserved within the architecture, palaces, churches, and art that were sponsored by the Medici Family. During the tour you have the opportunity to observe Palazzo Medici and Palazzo Vecchio (the most important civil building in the city). You also learn about the open air sculptures found within the Loggia della Signoria as well as the Pitti Palace, which was home to the Medici family. Strolling along the banks of the Arno will bring you to Ponte Vecchio, a bridge famous for its beautiful gold jewelry. On the top of the bridge is the hidden Vasari Corridor, which allowed the Medici family to travel secretly and safely from their home at Pitti Palace to the government building, Palazzo Vecchio.
