Reviews
Pretty sure this is a mom and pop shop so I'll be more generous and forgiving with my review. Overall the staff are amazing, the host who greeted me most days was charming and friendly, others are lovely too, save for one grumpy old man, but I think that's how old folks are. Rooms are clean. My room had a beautiful view. My main issues with the place are the thin walls, meh bed, flat pillow (which was kind of fixed when I asked for a second pillow) and shower temperature and pressure. Also you basically shower sitting on the toilet, which I was ok with. I couldn't get a good night's sleep and my back and neck hurts now. WiFi is a bit spotty on my phone, but fine on my laptop (I was able to stream movies) Location wise - excellent, can get to most tourist attractions within 15-20 minute walk. I can appreciate the breakfast included (there were croissants, bread, cold cuts, coffee, juice, yoghurt) since couple mornings I'd get up pretty early to visit museum first slots. If you're not a fussy sleeper then I can recommend this place.
Great hotel. The room was basic but extremely clean, the bathroom is small but has everything you need including a hairdryer and there is a little fridge, perfect for keeping the beer, wine and prosecco chilled for when you get back! The breakfast is small but perfect, no full english just what you normally get in Italy which I prefer. The location is superb, about a 10-15 minute stroll from the train station and the route takes you past the duomo. Across from the hotel is a supermarket that caters for every need if something has been forgotten, and, mister pizza which stays open very late. Pretty much everything is a ten minute walk away sight seeing wise so would highly recommend this hotel.
Great 9-night stay - Perfect base in the heart of Florence My wife and I stayed at Hotel Bodoni for 9 nights and it served as a perfect 'base' for our holiday. The room was clean and the location is unbeatable—right in the center with grocery stores and an excellent pizzeria nearby. The service was friendly and reliable. One thing to note is the soundproofing. Since it's a beautiful historic building, you can hear some noise from the street and other rooms. During our 9-night stay, this was only a real issue on Saturday night, but otherwise, it didn't bother us much. Just something to keep in mind if you are a light sleeper! Overall, a great value for the money. We highly recommend it for anyone looking for a central and tidy place to stay.
The photos dont reflect the reality of the hotel. In addition to the bathroom being tiny, the shower being an afterthought that they squeezed in as though they forgot to add one, the stay was very average. I cannot understand how it's rated so high. Breakfast was average so were the rooms. The door/window in one of the rooms did not close properly. My 77 yr old mum had to climb up4 flights of stairs because the lift was stopped by the laundry person and he didn't let it come down. Our stay in Florence was such a let down. The only thing good is the location
