Perfect location! It is central enough but also is in a nice and quiet local area so you can avoid the chaos. The single room facing the back was amazing! I loved the view and how lovely the breezes were coming thru. Room was clean and the staff were very nice too Alexandro and his sister were very kind and helpful. I suggest that you try speaking Italian a little, they really appreciate it. I slept so well cos it was quiet, the bed was comfy and the shower worked really well too. So for my second day in Florence i felt very energetic. Plus the very early check-in (11am) was perfect after arriving from Rome, I could rest a bit and enjoy the full day. If i come back to Florence I will stay here again. All the best to you and your family Alex, i hope your back is feeling better now! :)
Overall this is a 5-star rated hotel, keeping in mind that it's a 1-star hotel and probably the lowest price you'll find within the city of Florence. The hosts are very helpful and welcoming.
We enjoyed our stay immensely! The hotel is a couple blocks from a bus stop and a grocery store, a short taxi ride to the train station and airport and is in a great neighborhood. Alessandro, Sabrina and the staff were very accommodating and helped us in every aspect of our stay. We appreciate and will miss them. Thank you Hotel Masaccio, til next time.
Not bad for the price. Remeber this is a 1 start hotel. Bed was comfortable, room clean and staff was kind. Bathroom is shared but it's clean and the shower is inside the room. The con I would give is that the windows are too thin so it comes a lot of noise from the street and the room feels quite cold. I would recommend as an affordable accommodation in Florence.
