We absolutely loved our stay at Hotel Spadai this past month. We'd never stayed there before but the unrelentingly positive reviews - especially in regards to location - swayed us and we are so glad we listened. We visited Firenze in the midst of the heat wave they're experiencing, thanks to the heat dome parked over Europe. Having the ability to return home to our hotel several times over the course of the day to cool down in the excellent (and silent!) air con was invaluable. We took several showers each day, cooled down and then returned to our adventuring. The location simply could not have been more ideal, period, but especially in this instance. Service and hospitality was unfailingly gracious. Everyone smiled and greeted us, filled water bottles for us, and really just sort of exuded a quietly positive vibe that we appreciated. Our room was spacious and shockingly quiet for how central the location was. We heard minimal street noise and the blackout curtains did their job. Air conditioning is always a gamble - as I mentioned, ours was silent. It was a joy to retreat to our room and then gentle turndown service each day was welcome. The water pressure was fantastic (not always the case in Europe!) and the wifi worked. If you buy a drink at the bar during happy hour, they'll ply you with a buffet of bar snacks which was also welcome. As has been mentioned, the contents of the minibar are free and replenished daily and the breakfast on the top floor is fit for kings. We aren't big breakfast people but went up for takeaway coffee each morning and enjoyed a bounty of a fruit plate. There was a spa that we didn't have the opportunity to take advantage of but sounded like you could easily lose an hour or two to a massage. Overall, a really excellent stay without a single downside that I can think of to share. Oftentimes its "oh this was so great except..." but there wasn't an except. You could argue it doesn't have all the amenities of a higher end luxury hotel, and it does not, but if you're seeking those, then you already know that. We will look forward to returning again on future visits.

I’ve stayed in this hotel two times, let me elaborate… The first time I stayed there, the staff was incredibly welcoming, from the reception to the cleaning and the breakfast people, it was off the charts attentive and friendly. Our room view was beautiful, no direct duomo view but equally breathtaking! Lots of details made our stay totally enjoyable. Let me talk about the breakfast buffet for a second. They really do put a lot of effort on freshness and the cake variety is something else, lots of new things for us to try (not just your continental pancakes and waffles). All of this combined with the ridiculously walking distance to everything, made us want to come back and stay here again. What a gem!

Stayed here in April 2026. Absolutely loved this hotel! Perfect location- walkable and close to everything, yet quiet at night. Rooms were very clean and comfortable. Service was great! Still thinking about the daily breakfast buffet - so delicious and large variety! Favorite part - enjoyed our nightly appertivo and evening night cap with the most friendly and gracious bartender - Francesco. The best and most beautiful Hugo spritz! Thank you Francesco for your wonderful service and delicious drinks! Not to mention the amazing biscotti! So reminiscent of my Italian grandmother’s! Haven’t stopped thinking about every detail of this hotel. We can’t wait to get back here!

Lovely stay at this boutique hotel in perfect Florence location. Room and amenities were first class. Staff was engaging and enthusiastic with any inquiry, including booking dinner at a restaurant we were unable to get a reservation for. Bartender Francesco was brilliant and created the best old fashioned of the trip. Room had strong AC in April which is always essential for our comfort. The bathtub was a plus, and shower was small but effective. Will definitely return to Hotel Spadai.

This is a perfect location. Quiet at night so you are able to get a good nights rest. However it is right down the street from all of the popular monuments. The beds were the most comfortable hotel I’ve slept in. The breakfast buffet is delicious. Opens at 7 am you are able to get your belly full to take on the day. The service is amazing they clean the room every day, restock, and then turn your bed down to get you ready for bed. This was a perfect place to stay. I would recommend to anyone coming to Florence.
