Ristorante Brandolino

This was my second visit to Brandolino in less than 3 years as we are visiting from America. The food is amazing! The staff is lovely and warm, genuine. Service was attentive and kind. The atmosphere is old Italian (it’s a very very old building), tastefully decorated and pleasing. Seating is indoor. We had asparagus, various pasta dishes (there were 4 of us), Beef Wellington, Osso Bucco, wine, dessert. Everything was delicious. We can’t wait to visit again.
The food, atmosphere, and service was phenomenal! We were in Florence for 4 nights and this was the best meal we ate! I’d highly recommend this to anyone regardless of food preferences. Specifically we loved the strawberry salad, burrata, gnocchi, spicy spaghetti, truffle pasta, carbonara, and the steak Florentine. Plus the apple caramel tart was warm and delicious.
This restaurant was absolutely exceptional—truly one of the best dining experiences I’ve ever had, even compared to several Michelin-starred restaurants I’ve visited. From the moment our meal began, the attention to detail was clear. We started with a burrata appetizer (fresh mozzarella), which was presented in a uniquely styled bowl with edible “soil”—creative, beautiful, and just as delicious as it was visually impressive. The ravioli appetizer was thoughtfully split for us when we mentioned we were sharing, and it arrived perfectly plated with a rich, unforgettable cream sauce. For my entrée, I ordered the veal, which was cooked flawlessly and elevated by a delightful pistachio topping. It was paired with a portobello mushroom and a sauce that brought the entire dish together seamlessly. To finish, we ordered the tiramisu and crème brûlée, both of which were outstanding. The crème brûlée was especially memorable—it arrived flambéed, and watching the flame dance before digging in made it feel like a full experience, not just dessert. Every detail, from presentation to flavor to service, was beyond impressive. This restaurant didn’t just rival Michelin-starred dining—it surpassed it.
18 months after my first experience at Brandolino, I came back specifically for my thirtieth birthday dinner. This place is SO good, I think about it all the time. The pasta, the drinks, the garden soil (ifykyk), it’s just a one of a kind dining experience you won’t have anywhere else. My sister also insisted on getting the pumpkin flan and I was skeptical because Gorgonzola was on the ingredient list but omg… one of the best things we had. The people who run it are also so amazing and remembered us from almost two years before when we first came. The inside is gorgeous too. I can’t say enough about it. Out of the bajillion options of places to dine in Florence, this one stands out as a place I will always go back to every single time I am in this wonderful city. Thanks for making my 30th so fun!! Can’t wait to come back :)
If you’re looking for one of the best restaurants in Florence, Ristorante Brandolino is an absolute standout. Located conveniently near the Medici Chapels and just a short walk from the Duomo, it’s a perfect place to experience authentic Florentine cuisine in a warm and welcoming setting. The restaurant has a comfortable, inviting atmosphere with plenty of space for groups of any size, yet still feels cozy and elegant enough for a romantic dinner or special occasion. The staff are incredibly friendly, attentive, and genuinely helpful, and the level of service is truly impeccable. What makes Brandolino special is the variety and quality of the menu. The food is rooted in traditional Florentine cuisine, but there are also many unique and creative dishes that make the menu feel exciting and innovative. Everything we tried was fantastic, from the pasta to perfectly prepared meats and classic Italian desserts like tiramisu. It’s the kind of restaurant where you could return every night and try something different, and still feel like you’re experiencing the full range of Florence’s incredible culinary scene in one place.
