Oltrarno Splendid
Florence
Reseñas
This hotel is so sweet and such a little gem! The staff were so friendly and helpful, breakfast was lovely, and the rooms are unique and beautiful. We LOVED the location with so many amazing restaurants and bars within a couple of minutes walk. Would absolutely stay here again.
I left Oltrano Splendid two days ago. Admittedly, until writing this review, I have tried my absolute best to not think about my time there in meager efforts to prevent an inconsolable feeling of missing to take over. My stay at Splendid (as me and my friend who I was staying with have taken to calling it) was truly the most surreal experience—I strongly believe that my time in Florence would have been significantly less wondrous if I was staying somewhere else. Our journey began sweaty and exhausted as my friend and I dragged our suitcases the 15 minute walk from the train station to the location indicated on our google maps. We were both slightly confused when our phones indicated that we’d arrived since the entrance to Splendid looks nothing like a hotel and much more like a residential home. Upon entering through the massive wooden doors, the most wonderful smell filled our nostrils. We went up the elevator and entered the hotel to the joyful “ciao” of an old man named Alberto. The air conditioning was blasting—we instantly felt better. The longe/welcome area was beautifully decorated with fresh flowers on the tables and cute hand-drawn artwork on the walls. Alberto kindly informed us of the free breakfast that’s provided as well as the complementary pastries, fruit, and water available throughout the day. We were then lead down a hallway past the adorably quaint kitchen. Alberto took our luggage and placed it in the cutest invention I’ve ever seen: a luggage elevator. We walked down the stairs, retrieved our luggage, and made our way to our room. We were staying in the king room and it was beyond magical. The decor was immaculate, and everything you could think to include in a hotel room was included. A free tote bag, bath robes, free seltzer, and more. My friend and I were both mind blown. Alberto left us with a smile and we danced around the room for no kidding 20 minutes. If this isn’t enough to convince you to stay here, I don’t know what is. The experience was amazing. Please stay at Splendid!
Quiet Luxury in the Heart of Florence Our stay at Oltrarno Splendid was one of the best hotel experiences we’ve had. On arrival, we thought the taxi driver had dropped us at the wrong place — huge keypad doors, a gated entrance, and a tiny lift made it feel more like entering a private residence. A unique and memorable first impression. Pre-arrival communication: Excellent The taxi from Florence Airport was easy and around 30 minutes, costing just over €30. Corner suite: Splendid The room was spacious, beautifully designed and full of character. We loved the balcony with morning sun overlooking terracotta rooftops and a nearby church, complete with faint church bells in the background. Amenities were superb — excellent tea selection, espresso machine, minibar, and a heavenly bath after long days exploring. Staff and service: Brilliant Warm, attentive and genuinely helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast plus the all-day drinks and snacks: Delightful Location: Quiet Peaceful and close to the Arno River with great restaurants nearby and easy access to both the Oltrarno side and Florence’s main attractions. Overall: Stellar No hotel is ever perfect, but overall this was a stellar stay. With limited suites available, book early to avoid disappointment.
Having a key to the front door felt like we had our own 18th century palazzo close to the Arno. Sumptuous B&B with stunning furnishings. Our standard suite was huge and beautifully furnished. Lovely to have a claw foot freestanding bath in the bedroom and a dual shower! We loved being away from the crowds, but close to all the major sights within easy walking distance. Davide was kind and attentive throughout our stay. Good continental breakfast. A perfect start to our 2 week tour of Tuscany. We loved our stay here and will return when we next visit Florence
