Description

Set off to explore the evocative region of Romagna with a small group of up to 8 people. After a short drive through the Tuscan landscapes and the Apennines, you will reach Romagna, famous for its gastronomic tradition. The first stop will be at an authentic dairy farm, where you will have the opportunity to immerse yourself in the world of Parmigiano Reggiano production. You can watch the cheese being made and taste fresh Parmesan directly from the matured wheels. After 15 minute driving form the diary farm next visit will be a historic one. Castle of Torrechiara. The fortress, which shows the influence of the Sforza-Visconti castles, was therefore born not only as an instrument of defense, but also as a noble residence, merging defensive and residential structures. It was built between 1448 and 1460 by Pier Maria Rossi, count of San Secondo, a great leader in the service of the Viscontis, so that, on the one hand, he could control the outlet of the Parma stream in the plain and strengthen the fortified chessboard, which guaranteed the accesses from Liguria and Tuscany, in the hands of his family, and, on the other, to make it his home with his beloved Bianca Pellegrini from Arluno. The interior of the castle is very rich in frescoes rooms, mainly with naturalistic, fantastic and grotesque themes. Next, the tour will take you to Modena, renowned for its traditional balsamic vinegar. You will visit a local vinegar factory, where you will discover the process of producing balsamic vinegar and taste various nuances of this delicious condiment. After the visit to the vinegar factory, a delicious light lunch follows. (note: the lunch is not included) With a heart full of tasty experiences, you will return to Florence in the afternoon, bringing with you the unforgettable flavors and aromas of Romagna.
