Description
Welcome to the Palatine Gallery, where every room tells stories of power, art, and beauty. This ancient residence, built in the 15th century by the Pitti family and transformed by the Medici thanks to the ingenuity of Bartolomeo Ammannati, still preserves its splendid Mannerist courtyard.
But it is on the main floor that the real journey begins: among stuccoes and Baroque frescoes, we find a concentration of masterpieces that is unparalleled. Here, the sweet faces of Botticelli and Filippo Lippi coexist with the grace of Raphael, the dramatic power of Caravaggio, the sensuality of Titian, and the vibrant energy of Rubens and Van Dyck.
And while art surrounds us, just look out the windows to see the timeless green of the Boboli Gardens on one side and the roofs and workshops of the Oltrarno, the popular and artisan heart of Florence, on the other.
This ticket is valid for the guided visit; admission to the museum is free as it is the first Sunday of the month.
