Description
Join us on a full-day private tour of Lucca and Pisa. Your driver/guide will pick you up at your hotel in Florence and you’ll travel in our comfortable deluxe van to the western part of Tuscany, near the coast. Your first stop will be in ancient Lucca, one of the few cities in Italy where you’ll find rinascimental city walls. You’ll enjoy a leisurely walk through the city’s narrow medieval streets, and possibly visit the cathedral and the Roman ruins. We’ll visit Amphitheater Square, where you can take in the 360-degree views while enjoying a glass of wine. The Square is home to Andrea Salvetti’s sculpture 'Mazzolin di Fiori'. Opera lovers will also have the opportunity to visit Puccini's birthplace museum. During the day you’ll have time to stop at typical Tuscan restaurant to try some of the delicious local cuisine. We'll spend the afternoon in world-famous city of Pisa. The city’s “Miracle Square” is the location of some of the finest examples of Italian Romanesque architecture. You’ll see the famous leaning tower of Pisa, the immense Baptistry of St. John and the Cathedral of Pisa. The construction of the Cathedral began in 1063 and was completed in 1350. It is considered a masterpiece of Romanesque architecture.Includes
