The cleaning stuff just randomly opened the door while we (me and my girlfriend) were inside. Then we tried to explain to them that we would leave in 10 mins and they could come afterwards, but they kept speaking in italian as if they didnt understand. We then received a call and it was the reception asking us to leave immediately so that they can clean (we said that its ok to not clean today if thats a problem and they ignored it). Also, a bittle of water costs 2€ at the reception and theres no refrigerator or water in the rooms. Not to mention that people in florence were absolutely rude in general. Definitely not gonna visit again. I would rate them 1 star but the second is for some of the people of the reception stuff that were friendly and talkative.
We stayed here three nights in May 2026. Great location. The price was very high and the party line is that it is consistent with area prices. First, the positive. The location. Very close to the center and easy walking. Many cafes and eateries nearby. Quiet for the location. The windows opened, which was helpful for the damp and humidity inside. The reception staff was wonderful when we checked in. The first day and a half of our stay there was no hot water. After the first 24 hours I inquired at the front desk about the hot water (we had plenty of cold water) and they claimed it was due to the city working on the water and we would be without water for the remainder of our stay. This turned out to be untrue. Eventually, about six hours later, magically we had hot water. After my inquiry about the water, the staff would not even look at me when I passed through the lobby except to collect our room key. Our room was small, which is fine, but it had so much furniture in it that it was cramped and uncomfortable. The clothes cupboard could only be partially opened on one side because the large, worn out uncomfortable bed blocked the doors. The clothes cupboard was the only place in the room to store clothing besides the bedside table, so we never unpacked. The bathroom had no places to hang used or damp towels. There was a heated towel rack installed over the light switch that held one bath towel or two hand towels. The light switch was difficult to reach due to the location of this towel rack. The breakfast was average, some pastries, cheese, lunchmeat, bread. There was one coffee machine for all of the guests. The first morning of our stay the line was six deep for coffee. After that we tried to vary when we went for breakfast to avoid the line. The breakfast room had some of the most uncomfortable chairs I have ever sat upon. They are acrylic and cut into the back of the legs due to their design. I'm short and fat and my partner is tall and slim and both of us found the chairs very uncomfortable. I suppose it's a tool to keep guests from loitering unless they like that sort of thing. As long as tourists keep flocking to Florence hotels like this will keep on with their status quo.
The location of the hotel is amazing, a block away from the Duomo. But the rooms are old and it’s very hard to get some rest if you are a light sleeper. We had the room in front of the bar and there was a lot of noise from the street and from the people preparing breakfast. If you travel with kids who need more than the 5-6 hours at night when it’s quiet, it’s hard.
The location is great. That is the best part of this hotel. We were there in January 2026. We were on a pilgrimage with 28 other people. We were on floor one of the hotel, which is actually floor three of the building. We took the elevator up to reach it easily. Our room was minuscule. We barely had room to walk around the edge of the bed. Thankfully they provided a bed big enough for the two of us. Other places only provide twin beds. The room had a desk which was great for putting on makeup. We pretty much lived out of our suitcases and there was room behind the door for the unused suitcases. There was an armoire that my husband used and hung his clothes in. The bathroom was simple. The window was great because we were able to open it when it got too hot in the room. Our bedroom window overlooked a pretty courtyard. It was quiet and we slept well. The food was just okay but we were grateful nonetheless. The staff were fine nothing extraordinary. They tried to charge us for a towel but after some explanation they dropped the fee. All in all I would only stay here again if I was desperate. I am sure anywhere else would be more expensive.
Great location for price you pay, easy to walk to train station even with cases. We stayed in room 305 with a view of the Duomo from our window. Walk out front access and you have 100 yard walk to Duomo many restaurants and gelato stores also. Room was always cleaned to a high standard bathroom very small with just enough room in the shower to turn around. Has a tv in the room but no English speaking channel so never turned on ,no coffee or tea making facility in room which I found disappointing as there is a big sign on breakfast room no drinks can be taken to your room. Breakfast was adequate no hot food so don’t expect a typical American buffet but was enough to get you going in the morning. They have a small bar area I have a glass of wine there but tasted terrible can only think it had been opened for several days took one drink from my glass and handed back but was still charged for it. Just come with an open mind your in Italy not USA rooms are basically for sleeping no luxuries there it’s not the Ritz so don’t expect that.
