Just the best place in Florence for an authentic sandwich lunch and great value - hence the queues Tip - It is worth the wait 😋 We went twice, eating upstairs. The porchetta based Dante was excellent especially with added sun-dried tomatoes.
Great restaurant to visit . it’s delicious!! the meat sliced locally and its fresh vegetable in the sandwiches . The bread is crispy. I highly recommend to try this fast food restaurant but keep in mind delay or waiting time 10-20 minutes Food 10/10 Clean 10/10 Service 10/10
Got there at 11:15 to be confronted with a long line. We waited and the line got longer. They opened at 11:30 and it moved really quickly. We were #13, made our order and went upstairs to a small attic space with 5 tables. They cut their own meat and it looks like they make their own bread. We got the Pinocchio and the Cignala. They quickly called our number and we got our delicious, mouth watering sandwiches. This place lived up to the hype!! And it was so affordable compared to what we had been paying all over Italy. When we came out the line was more than double of when we went in. Timing was key, get there early.
Really good schiacciatas (sandwiches) that are nice and full with good fillings, perfect stop if you have time to wait but they are helpful in the line and you can time it right to do other things in florence, worth the wait. Not too expensive for a meal in florence centre and easy to find. We stayed in queue for the real dwal and it was worth it but there are a couple less popular places accross the road on the same street so you might as well see what it's like on the day and whether you want to wait. Don't expect to sit in even though I think you can if you sit near the queue you will have a lot of people passing behind you. Great bread and menu selection, they do try and upsell drinks at the till but no problem saying no if you don't want them and good staff that work quick and keep everything moving. Great stop, one of the highlights of florence.
You'll hear people say that these sandwiches are better than All'Antico Vinaio. The breads are completely different so you can't compare 1 to 1. This place uses a crunchier bread, so if you like soft foccacia this might not be for you. Is it the best sandwich in the world? No, but it was still good. We tried 3 different ones: Suicida, Accidiosa, and Golosa. They were all delicious but felt like they were missing something, maybe something acidic. The Suicida was nice since it haf a lighter fresher feel to it
