What an incredible hidden gem! This place was exactly the authentic escape we were hoping for, tucked far away from the chaotic tourist crowds and delivering genuine local flavors without a single tourist-trap gimmick. We snagged an amazing two-person deal (12€) that offered unbelievable value: generous, hearty portions paired with exquisite, true-to-Italy taste. The pasta was divine, the lasagna rich and perfectly layered, and the wine and desserts were the cherry on top. What truly set this experience apart, though, was the staff, warm, wonderfully patient, and genuinely attentive from start to finish. If you're craving a cozy, authentic Italian atmosphere with food that feels like a warm hug, I cannot recommend this place enough. Run, don't walk!

A hidden gem for a proper lunch in Florence. In an era of sterile chain restaurants, polished tables, and overly formal service, this place reminds you of a simple truth: food is meant to be food. You’ll find tourists wandering nearby, construction workers stopping for lunch, and locals who simply want a generous meal at a fair price. The restaurant is known as Centopoveri. The food is delicious, the portions are generous, and the atmosphere is authentic and unpretentious. A full meal here costs around €12, yet the quality is excellent. I’ve been here several times, and the staff have always been friendly and welcoming. If you’re lucky, you might sit next to regular local customers who come here almost every day. One table may be occupied by a retired gentleman enjoying his lunch, while another is filled with workers still wearing their Costruzione Toscana T-shirts. It feels like a real neighborhood restaurant rather than a tourist attraction. If you can’t find a reason to like this place, that’s your loss. Food: ★★★★★ Service: ★★★★★ Atmosphere: ★★★★★

One of my favourite meals in my 1 month of travelling Europe. The service is amazing and the food is spectacular! We had the lunch special and what a bang for your buck! Even came with some nice wine. Finished it off with a coffee and the best tiramisu! I’m so happy we stopped here! I hope everyone gets to try this place!

We got the 12 euro lunch and let me say, this was fantastic. You get a 2 course meal, water and wine included. We waited 10 minutes for a table. The food was amazing, service was amazing. 10/10 I highly recommend. The menu changes regularly, but the staff have good recommendations! The place is busy, but we didn’t need a reservation.

Had dinner here yesterday night, extremely welcoming host and very big restaurant, reservations are recommended as they get priority seating (especially big groups) but walk-in for small groups still possible if you reach there at opening time. Had the menu Chianina (52 euros per person. Minimum 2 orders) and added on 250mL of red wine. Coperto, water, espresso and tax included in the cost. Waiter was very proactive and prompt in his service, antipasto arrived quickly and had a great spread of crostini, cold cuts and pecorino with honey, great portion size. The 500g of Bistecca alla fiorentina per person (total around 1kg for 2 pax) was really big, and came with a huge amount of delicious well seasoned roasted potatoes. I ordered rare and the meat was so juicy, and the steak was also really thick, the sizzling hot plate it came in filled the table with the aroma of grilled beef. Well seasoned and cooked perfectly. We could choose one dessert each as part of the set meal, and we got a tiramisu (delicious and huge portion, not too sweet) and panna cotta with forest fruits (custard wasn’t too sweet and was nicely jiggly, the forest fruit was really fresh and acidic and contrasted very well with the curd, highly recommend). Finished off with a very concentrated shot of espresso at the end. Limoncello on the house to conclude the meal was delicious. Overall highly recommend to get the menu Chianina, service was great and prompt, it’s hard to find fault with the whole dining experience.
