We happened to walk by and decided to step in on a whim. We never expected to discover such an elegant and outstanding restaurant. The food deserves a perfect 5, and the service gets a 5+. Everything was absolutely delicious. The meat was exceptional—the chef personally came to our table, carved it in front of us, and served it onto our plates. It was a truly memorable experience. We paired our meal with a magnificent Tuscan red wine, which complemented everything perfectly. The dessert completely amazed us: an incredibly soft sponge cake with a delicate molten cream center. Simply unforgettable. A special thanks to the staff. They gave us excellent recommendations and made us feel genuinely welcome throughout the evening. We left absolutely delighted and will definitely come back.
This dinner was wonderful! The food was extremely tasty! We ordered food for my 2 year old and she didn’t really enjoy it so they offered to make her something else. They were so kind to do that for us 🫶🏼 The high chair was wonderful as well!
My wife and I first happened upon this restaurant back in 2010 (as young newlyweds visiting Italy for the first time) and had one of the most amazing meals we’d ever experienced. Tonight, we returned, 16 years (and three children) later to allow our whole family to experience it. What a wonderful little treasure tucked away just off the main piazza. Highly recommend!
My husband and I visited 16 years ago, and we have talked about it ever since. It is that good! Of course we had to make this our first stop on our first trip back - this time with our kids in tow. Everything was just as amazing as we remembered. We all got different dishes and we all loved them. The hand made pasta is a really stand out, but the steak is also perfectly done. If you are in Florence, definitely add this place to the top of your list.
⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We had a fantastic lunch at Osteria del Gatto e la Volpe. The food was absolutely delicious. The pasta was exquisite—fresh, flavorful, and perfectly cooked. The Il Peposo was outstanding as well, rich in flavor, incredibly tender, and a perfect example of traditional Tuscan cuisine. A special thank you to Denisse, who made our experience truly memorable. She provided exceptional service throughout our visit—friendly, attentive, professional, and always with a warm smile. Her hospitality made us feel genuinely welcome and added so much to our dining experience. Excellent food, outstanding service, and a wonderful atmosphere.
