The Hotel is in walking distance of the main train station in Firenze ( Florence ) and is very close to the outdoor market and countless restaurants and bars . The hotel staff are wonderful, very helpful and professional. The hotel has a great roof top terrace with a cocktail bar with amazing views of the D'uomo and beyond.
Fantastic location - 5 mins from station - 4 mins walk to the Mercato Centrale - Magnificent walk to the Duomo and easy walk to the golden bridge. Spoilt for cafes and restaurants and the staff were wonderful.. Will return
Machiavelli Palace was such a great find. The room was huge with this beautiful old fashioned decor that felt really special, not your typical modern hotel vibe at all, so if this is ur vibe, definitley book the room. Location wise, it's under 4 minutes from the train station which is a lifesaver when you're dragging luggage around. Right outside the hotel there are plenty of restaurants, and despite being in the middle of everything, the soundproofing on the windows is solid so the nights were peaceful. Now the fun part, the Duomo views are literally everywhere. From the rooftop terrace, from the stairs, even from the bathroom (yes, really, and it's a great surprise). The rooftop also comes with a 10% discount for hotel guests which is a nice bonus. Everything you'd want to see is within 4 to 15 minutes on foot, so you barely need to think about getting around. I'd go back without hesitation.
The hotel is very well located, just a few minutes away from train station and couple of blocks from Mercato Centrale. Near lots of other commercial and food establishments. The hotel per se is ok. Rooms are spacious. Bathroom tiny. Not very well sound proof. Noisy from third floor. We were cold at night. Building is old but looks renovated. Looked like it had some mould in a corner. Otherwise, clean. Service was great. Employees were very friendly and helpful. Breakfast ok. Balance quality-price-location is very good. Would return, in spite of its downsides. Great view from rooftop.
