Hotel Ponte Vecchio Suites & Spa
Florence
Reviews
The Hotel has only rooms in the ground floor and the 1st floor. It is located between two busy roads. The roads are narrow so that the remarkable noise cannot escape. The noise insulation of the windows does not meet international standards. A very unpleasant fragrance (similar to campher balls) is apparent throughout the hotel. Overall not recommendable.
Hotel rooms were absolutely amazing. Staff was extremely helpful with everything we needed including private car services and helping with restaurant locations to eat. Would highly recommend especially how close it was to the Vecchio bridge.
The rooms and service are a good option. There is no view, only alley. If you travel when you would want cooler, less humid air, they will only turn on with certain workers. Day shift was wonderful. The night shift told us they had older guests and we should open a window (regardless of street noise), but finally figured out how to operate our room independently. Great location!
Our stay was disappointing, unfortunately the only negative experience we had after staying at seven hotels in Italy over three weeks. Before arrival, I contacted the hotel to request a quiet room. While they did place us away from nearby construction, we were assigned a room located above a very loud laundry business. Due to jet lag, we were woken abruptly around 8:30 a.m. when the business opened, and there was continuous noise and vibration in both the bedroom and living area until the laundromat closed for lunch. Although the hotel mentioned soundproofing, it did not adequately block the noise or vibration from below. In our case, we were assigned room 105, which is located above a commercial laundry business. During operating hours, we experienced significant noise and vibration in both the bedroom and living area. Guests who are sensitive to noise may want to ask about room placement in advance. When I raised the concern, I was told the room is not usually loud, however the laundry business below is a full-service operation, so this did not feel like a rare or unexpected situation. Guests booking an executive suite should be aware that room placement appears to make a significant difference in noise levels. We were moved to another executive suite, but unfortunately that room also had issues, including a kitchen door that was broken and could not be used, a very loud shower, and a sofa that was uncomfortable and did not match the photos online. A second room booked by our party had visible black mold in the shower. I reported these issues to the front desk both during the stay and again at checkout. While staff listened, the problems were not resolved, and there was no apology for the unusable amenities that were part of what we paid for. The compensation offered was a small box of chocolates, which did not feel appropriate given the cost of the stay and the condition of the rooms. The staff were polite, but overall the experience did not meet expectations for the price, and the rooms did not match what was advertised online.
The staff at the hotel was extremely helpful, welcoming and friendly. When our airline lost our bag the hotel immediately called on our behalf and had it there by morning. The hotel is a 3 minute walk from the bus stop, 5 minutes from Ponte Vecchio, and 15 minutes from the main train station. Making it extremely easy to see the city. When spending one night in a nearby city, the hotel stored our bags and had them in our room by the time we arrived the next day. Breakfast and happy hour drinks were also included in our stay. Most importantly, the hotel was extremely clean and well taken care of.
