we loved this place and went 3 times during our short trip to florence. my boyfriend said he's never seen me eat like that before ! we thoroughly enjoyed the tomato and bread soup and the gnudi dish. omg ! we will try to recreate it when we get home, unsuccessfully I'm sure. so unless we go back to florence , we'll be dreaming about that meal always.
Some restaurants serve great food. Some provide great service. Silvo and Trattoria Da Ginone absolutely nailed both. From the moment we walked through the door, we were welcomed with genuine smiles and treated like valued guests. Our server, Anoire, was incredible; attentive, friendly, and somehow always there exactly when we needed something. Then came the food. Authentic Tuscan cuisine done right. Every dish was packed with flavor, beautifully prepared, and reminded us why Florence is one of the greatest food cities in the world. What started as dinner quickly became one of our favorite dining experiences of the trip. If you're planning a visit to Florence, do yourself a favor: make a reservation, put this restaurant on your itinerary, and thank yourself later. This is the kind of place you'll still be talking about long after you leave Italy. 🇮🇹🔥
The food was amazing! We did a good tour and the experience was so great we came back for dinner. The food was delicious and the atmosphere was great! We ate until we were full! The people serving us were very kind too :)
Our local food tour guide, Chiara, took us here on one of our 6 stops. It’s an adorable restaurant. We had two dishes there: Lampredotto (which is cow stomach and I wouldn’t typically eat that but it was excellent), and gnudi (described as the inside of a ravioli which was also amazing. Definitely worth a stop at this restaurant to get a local feel and avoid the crowds in the touristy city center
We visited Trattoria da Ginone and had the Florentine Steak which was so good that we came back a day later and had what was probably the best meal of our entire trip to Florence. Our server took amazing care of us, the house wine was excellent, the pasta dishes were super delicious, the roast potatoes were the best I’ve had anywhere, the beef cheek was fork-tender and literally melted in my mouth, and the tiramisu was the perfect end to the meal! A standout establishment that really made us feel welcomed and as though we were eating in someone’s home. Cannot recommend this place enough to everyone and a special shoutout to our server again for making it such a fantastic meal!
