I had a wonderful dinner here. The food was absolutely delicious… Everything was authentic and full of flavor. What made the evening truly memorable was the kindness of the owner. After dinner, since I was too full for dessert, he surprised me with a small limoncello on the house. It was such a thoughtful gesture that made me feel genuinely welcome and taught me to speak certain “Grazie”, haha… Excellent food, warm hospitality, and a beautiful atmosphere. I would happily come back and highly recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Florence
After a hearty dinner elsewhere, we found ourselves craving a proper Italian dessert and wandered into Trattoria Giovanni on the Arno side of Florence. Despite the restaurant still buzzing, they happily accommodated us as walk-ins and we managed to nab a great table. The tiramisu was absolutely delicious—light, creamy, and the perfect way to end the evening. Paired with a chilled Vecchio Amaro del Capo, it made for a classic Italian finish to the day. Friendly service and a lively atmosphere rounded off the experience perfectly. In Italy, dessert isn’t just the end of the meal—it’s part of the experience.
Such an amazing dinner and experience. Gives a more local experience and the food was phenomenal!! GET THE STEAK ABSOLUTELY NEED TO HAVE IT!!!! Best steak we’ve had in Florence. The atmosphere was a little dull right at our reservation time but picked up and was everything we were hoping it would. If we ever come back we’re coming here every single time. We ordered the prosciutto and melon starter, ragu and florentine steak entrees, finished with a tiramisu and dessert wine on the house. The Chianti Ruffino Riserva Decale was phenomenal.
Wonderful place! Service was attentive and excellent. The steak was crispy on the outside, soft and tender on the inside and incredibly juicy! The panna cotta was delicious too, very creamy and smooth and perfect when coupled with the slightly sour and aromatic wild berries sauce. The after-meal limoncello was perfect to wash everything down with too. One of the best spots we’ve tried in Florence!
We had an excellent time at dinner. The restaurant has a great atmosphere and the host is fantastic. The restaurant was busy so he provided glasses of wine as people waited for their table. We had the pasta with wild boar and the steak. I’m Irish and I think we have great steak, so I hope it gives credit when I say how good the medallion was here. Cooked to perfection, I was tempted to order a second one. We had tiramisu to finish off, which ended up being my favourite tiramisu is Florence. Highly recommend and would return again.
