Really nice place. The hotel is very clean and the breakfast was delicious!! The room walls could use a paint job but everything else was great. The staff was very nice. The location is a close walk to the main train station. Easy walk with your luggage. The train station area can feel alittle sketchy but then again most train stations do on the outside. We never saw anything happen the few of times we walked to/ from there so I'd say it's pretty safe. The hotel is a 5 min walk to the main strip for shopping and restaurants. There are two convenience stores right across the street which is nice. Two doors down is a very popular restaurant (OsteriaPanella)which has a line most nights. We wanted to try but didn't was to miss the sunset. A bonus, was to have a wine window at the hotel across the street. Ring the bell and someone will come out to take your order. It was so cool! The upstairs roof top view was amazing!! We tried to make it up there every night to catch the sunset. One the best, if not the best, sunset in florence. The only disappointment was that the roof top closes at 10pm. Wish it was open atleast until 11pm. If we return to florence, we'll be returning. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our stay at Hotel Croce di Malta. Location was fantastic--walking distance to the train station and We greatly appreciated our king-sized bed and balcony overlooking the pool, but the two-level suite was a bit awkward to get used to. It was a very hot week throughout Italy, and air conditioning was not very effective--avg room temp was never lower than 24 C. The front desk was kind enough to lend us a fan which was a life saver, tho. In general the front desk was very extremely friendly and helpful, buffet breakfast plentiful and high quality, very enjoyable each morning by the pool. Service everywhere was excellent. Regarding the pool, it was very enjoyable cooling off with drinks in the late afternoon. Finally, rooftop bar was spectacular in the evening. We will recommend it highly to anyone traveling to Florence and hope to return.
Highly recommend for Location, Breakfast, Cleanliness and Friendly Staff. Within walking to Train Station, major tourist attractions and restaurants / shopping. Hotel maintained email communication. Nice clean room with balcony view of Florence rooftops. Has rooftop bar with great city view. Full flavorful buffet breakfast.
The hotel is within easy walking distance of all of the major sightseeing locations and museums in Florence. The nearby piazza and great little gelateria on the corner made for a lovely spot to end an early evening. Our rooms were spacious and spotless, comfortable mattress and pillows, and the air conditioning, as well as an elevator, very welcomed. A lovely quiet bar on the first floor opened up to an outdoor area and pool where it was nice to relax at the end of a busy day of sightseeing. Best of all was the rooftop bar, where 360-degree view of the city was gorgeous. The breakfast was excellent, with many options and good coffee! Water and coffee, refrigerator, and lockbox provided in the room were nice amenities. The service was superb. The staff were courteous, friendly, very helpful, and all spoke English (I speak only a few words of Italian). We brought the wrong adaptor and the hotel was able to quickly find one for us to use, which we so appreciated. We will certainly be back!
Had a wonderful stay at this hotel. Near the train station convenient to walking in Florence. Rooms were super comfortable and don’t forget to go to the roof at 4 PM for drinks with a beautiful view of the surrounding area, including the Duomo. . Wonderful breakfast in the morning with so many different options. Everything was delicious and made my egg and bacon eating partner happy.however the best thing about This hotel is that I had lost my wallet and passports, and they were returned to me from the hotel staff. We are still not certain how I lost them as my bag is locked, but nonetheless I was so grateful and they could not have been nicer. Do not hesitate to stay here
