Ok the food was good especially the Bruschetta…..you must order that!! Our problem was the service; it wasn’t busy when we were seated but it was getting busy and we were so thankful we got our order in, however they lost our order and we sat for over 45 minutes after we placed our order and people we coming and going. We didn’t want to be rude, but had ask where our order was and was told it was coming, but no explanation. I could see our server talking with the manager and somewhere it was forgotten. I’m ok with that, but no one ever apologized or explained what happened. That is what bothered us the most. So maybe it was just a one off. Bottom line the food was good and yes I would give it a try again, but they need to work on communication with the customer.
Delicious handmade pasta and bistecca alla fiorentina! Kind waitress, we truly felt welcome! Used our Amex resy credit here and it was a great choice. Kid friendly and food came out quickly.
We hit the jackpot on all fronts with this restaurant. We were looking for a proper steak florentine experience with reasonable price and good quality. We got all of that at Casa Toscana. The service was attentive but not overly, food was excellent, with steak obviously being the highlight. 9.5/10
I just want to apologize to whoever wrote that the steak was very bland. I’m so sorry I should’ve listened to you. You were so right. I wanted to give it a try because the meal was covered by AMEX Platinum Resy but god damn that steak was enough to take this restaurant off of the Resy platform. No taste at all. We asked for medium rare and it came out a wee bit too rare so asked for it to be cooked a wee bit more. Then it came out way past medium. But the main thing is there is no flavor! I had to add salt to it. If I wanted Korean bbq, I would’ve went to Korea to add salt to my meat, not Italy. Other than that, risotto is good but mid — not worthy of an Amex Resy status. Wine pairing with steak was good and staff was pleasant. End of report. Won’t recommend but would come back if I have to use my AMEX Resy credits again :(
It was so much fun strolling the cobbled laneways of Florence’s historic area. Every restaurant enticed; my husband seemed to have shortlisted several; we wandered into Casa Toscana. Sharing the substantial and fresh Mediterranea salad and the vegetariano charcuterie board with its selection of mixed grilled vegetables, pecorino cheese and bruschetta was the perfect combination to wet our appetites. I followed with the herby nettle ravioli with butter and sage and my husband selected homemade wide fettuccine with wild boar sauce; I also couldn’t resist the pumpkin soup. Every mouthful was worth savouring, satisfying and so thoroughly relaxing. The staff were friendly and attentive, and the decor atmospheric. We shared the Panna cotta with berries and were delighted to receive a glass of limoncello to help with our digestion. So many wonderful restaurants in Florence.
