Mercato delle Pulci
Florence
The Flea market is arranged in small sheds where antiques, old books, second hand and vintage furniture is stacked gracefully inside and outside in the courtyard. From stylish ashtrays and lamps to very particular buttons or ribbons, any kind of collectibles from rare books, old postcards and vynils. It is quite characteristic and every last Sunday of the month the market takes over the whole square, other vendors come from other parts of Italy to sell from the most various oddities to antique rare pieces and vintage clothing and accessories. You can try to bargain a little.
The square hosts a drinkable water fountain if you need to refill your bottles.
It is situated in the Piazza dei Ciompi to the east of the city and surrounded by other shops selling old furniture and custom jewelry. Open from 10am to 7:30pm
For a drink or quick lunch you can sit on the outside patio at Plaz bar facing the Loggia del Pesce(Lodge of he fisher folk) built in a simple linear structure with 18 Doric columns designed by Giorgio Vasari in 1565, moved here later from Piazza della Repubblica.
