Description
Florence sits at the edge of some of Italy's most celebrated wine country, and this small group tour puts you right in the middle of it. With a small group, you get a day that feels genuinely personal with enough room to ask questions, linger over lunch, and taste wines at your own pace.
Your first stop is Fontaleoni, a family-run winery founded in 1959 just outside San Gimignano. A sommelier leads you through the cellar and into the estate's story, from mixed farming roots to the Vernaccia and Chianti it produces today. Then settle in for lunch: 4 estate wines arrive alongside Tuscan appetizers, handmade pasta in tomato sauce, ribollita, and cantucci dipped in golden Vin Santo.
After lunch, transfer to Poggio ai Laghi, a hillside estate perched between two lakes. Sangiovese, Merlot, and Vermentino are made here due to the ideal microclimate. Enjoy a second sommelier-led tasting of 6 wines pours, and sample rich olive oil, aged balsamic, cured meats, and bruschetta set out alongside the vines.
With round-trip transport from central Florence is included, all you need to do is enjoy the ride through cypress-lined hills and silvery olive groves back to the city.
