Inside the Baptistery, admire the Byzantine mosaics decorating the vaulted ceiling and view Lorenzo Ghiberti’s original Gates of Paradise on the exterior. Continue to the Opera del Duomo Museum to see significant artworks including Michelangelo’s unfinished Pietà, learning about the artist’s life and work.

Depending on your chosen option, climb Giotto’s Bell Tower and/or Brunelleschi’s Dome independently with your ticket. Note that access to the Dome and Bell Tower is self-guided and not included in the audioguided tour. Your ticket also grants independent entry to the Cathedral of Santa María del Fiore.

  • The Baptistery is undergoing mosaic restoration and closes at 2:00 pm every first Sunday of the month
  • The Opera del Duomo Museum is closed every first Tuesday of the month and is replaced by Santa Reparata Crypt on those days
  • Dress code enforced: no shorts or sleeveless tops allowed. Knees and shoulders must be covered for men and women. Entry may be refused otherwise
