AMERIGO VESPUCCI - Florence Airport (FLR)
also known as 'Peretola Airport'

The FLORENCE AIRPORT is dedicated to Amerigo Vespucci (1454-1512), the local Italian merchant, cartographer and navigator, one of the first explorers of the New World. The Airport consists in 2 Terminal buildings (Arrivals and Departures), a short macadam Runway of 1,688 meters long and 30 meters of width. The Airport is quite small like the planes landing here - International Flights are handled by the Pisa International Airport (45minutes from Florence by car).

The Airport is situated in the north-west side of town, 4 kilometers away Florence downtown, at the entrance of Highway A1. There is no direct railway connection to Florence Airport, but the Central SMN Railway Station can be reached through the 'VOLA in BUS' Shuttle Service (see details below).
