Description
Ancient Music Festival at Santa Felicita's church, in Florence, Italy. Vocal and instrumental repertoire of baroque music from the early 1600s to the end of the 1700s. Music played with instruments that are both copies of originals and originals, and very specialized historical performance practices. Counting on the presence of international artists of ancient music, who are repertoire specialists. Music that varies from G.Frescobaldi, C.Monteverdi, G.Carissimi, the entire Roman, Venetian and Neapolitan school, the German and French school of the 17th century up to A.Vivaldi, J.S.Bach and his entire family (J.Christian, W.Friedemann, C.Philip, etc.), J.Dowland, F.Couperin and J.P.Rameau. The church of Santa Felicita was the official church of the Medici and then the Lorena families from the mid-16th century onwards until the early 19th century. The families used to reach the church directly from the balcony through the Vasari corridor from Palazzo Pitti. They used to attend the liturgy. Furthermore, the church internally houses very important paintings and has a diocesan museum with furnishings deriving from the Uffizi. The chapter house, where the concerts will partly take place, is the only remaining place of the medieval church; built between 1383 and 1387, the nuns used to meet there. It was frescoed by Nicolò di Pietro Gerini (Giotto school) and partly modified by Cosimo Ulivelli in 1665.Includes
