Bottom line, the food is great, and if you want a fine dining experience at a more accessible price, Martaré's for you. I paid €60ish for 4 courses and a glass of wine which seemed fair. There's a 2 person team running the show so service can be a bit slow but not unreasonable for a leisurely meal. Don't come expecting a rustic kitchen with a hearty plate of pasta. Martale does remain true to that Italian philosophy of quality ingredients prepared simply, but with more sophistication across smaller portions than the average ristorante in town. My favorite was the pillowy gnocchi in a savory sauce with hints of orange.
We had a amazing dinner at Martare last night. Run by a beautiful couple, Marta who served us out front and Massimo who is the chef. We were a large party - 10 of us and we were there to celebrate our friend Mark’s birthday. Marta and Massimo made it feel special. Mark or Marco spoke a little Italian which warmed the relationship. Oh and they have a wonderful wine selection as well. Everyone should come to Martare. And to top it off they have a little dog named Ken Follet. How cute is that. Haha.
