Ciro and Sons - Restaurant Pizzeria Firenze
Florence
レビュー
As someone who eats gluten-free, it can be very difficult to navigate safe options when eating out. However, this restaurant was the most accommodating I have ever experienced; their ENTIRE menu can not only be made gluten-free, but dairy-free as well, which I’ve NEVER heard of before but it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! And better yet, I would NEVER be able to tell the difference between my gluten-free food and my family’s normal food from look nor taste. The best part is the staff labeled all of my food with a “gluten-free” sticker on the plates to ensure that both I and the staff knew that my food was safe for me to eat and from cross-contamination. The entire staff was so kind, attentive, and friendly- special shoutout to our waiter Alex- and my family all agreed that this was our favorite restaurant from the entire trip- besides Florence, we also visited Venice, Rome, and Tuscany, so that says a lot :). I can say with full confidence that the pizza crust was by far not only the best gluten-free crust I’ve ever had, but the best pizza crust I’ve ever had in general. My family tried some and also agreed that they thought they were eating a normal pizza crust- it was light and airy, soft on the inside yet a little crispy on the outside (PERFECT)! Also, the food is very reasonably priced, especially for the amazing quality of the food. My family of four got 3 drinks, an appitizer, 2 salads, a gluten-free pizza, and 3 pasta dishes, and we spent less than €140 altogether, rounding out at just over €30 per person. Between the service and the food, this is the best restaurant I’ve experienced in Italy, and I feel so grateful for the opportunity to visit here. I hope to come back and visit sometime in the near future, and would recommend this restaurant to anyone visiting Florence. If you are gluten or dairy-free, and even if you’re not, this is a must-try restaurant regardless- but we recommend making a reservation for the best experience! We made a reservation, had no wait for a table and were served immediately, and the restaurant was completely full- not one empty table! Thanks again for the wonderful hospitality and meal.
Overall a good spot but not a must try given the reputation. The lobster pasta was delicious and the diavola pizza was good, well cooked. Great ambiance inside but it was very packed and felt a bit claustrophobic as you are so close to nearby tables and the chairs were very rigid as well. They also sell matcha latte on the menu, and I couldn’t believe my eyes - no traditional Italian restaurant would do this 😂 overall, it is definitely geared towards tourists and our waiter asked us to review a good review on TripAdvisor as well. But not a bad spot if you are nearby and want some decent food.
They have two kitchens to allow celiac safe dining for all. The entire menu can be made gluten free or with gluten and everything is marked when it arrives. The GF focaccia and gluten free bread were soft and tasty. We enjoyed the octopus, and fried calamari appetizers but would pass on the arrancini appetizer next time. The shrimp risotto was bland. The zucchini pasta had good flavor. Overall pleased with the service and the atmosphere, but flavors could be more enhanced in the food in certain dishes.
We tried both the pasta and pizza. The staff were extremely friendly and attentive throughout our visit. When they learned that we were Turkish, they became even warmer and more welcoming, which genuinely made us happy. The pasta was excellent and one of the highlights of our meal. As for the pizza, the flavor was very good, but I personally expected the dough to be a bit crispier. Perhaps because of the sauce, the middle part of the pizza was softer than expected. Still, it was delicious overall. The portions were also generous and filling, making the overall experience satisfying and enjoyable.
. No joke—I’m from NYC, and this is hands down the best pizza and steak I’ve ever had. From the moment we walked in, the service was exceptional. The entire staff was incredibly kind, welcoming, and genuinely invested in making sure we had a great experience. They consistently checked on us throughout the meal and made sure we had everything we needed without ever making us feel rushed. My aunt has a gluten allergy, and they went above and beyond to accommodate her dietary needs, which we truly appreciated. It was refreshing to dine somewhere that focuses on creating a memorable experience rather than trying to turn tables as quickly as possible. While everyone was fantastic, our waiter Alex was absolutely outstanding. He was attentive, friendly, professional, and played a huge role in making our visit so enjoyable. His attention to detail and genuine care for his guests really stood out. If you have the chance, ask for Alex—you won’t be disappointed. This restaurant exceeded all expectations, and I can’t recommend it enough. We’ll definitely be back!
