Edit: Unfortunately had to bump the rating from five stars to two. We woke up with pretty bad food poisoning the next morning, as another review mentions - likely due to the tiramisu. Had a fantastic dinner here - a last minute booking after we were feeling uncertain about another reservation. So glad we stopped in! Food was flavorful and very well prepared - the pastas are amazing. Service was friendly and clearly husband and wife team have everything in order! What an adorable and cozy spot in the center of Florence!
Reserved a table for 5 in this quaint restaurant near our hotel in city center. No better way to enjoy a meal Florence then in a small, family owned restaurant. It did not disappoint. The wine, service and food was fantastic. We ordered Tenderloin, ravioli, and couple other pastas. Fresh and delicious. The Chianti wine was also excellent. Highly recommend trying this small restaurant but with only about 10 tables, make a reservation.
Incredible amazing and delicious. Walter was very friendly and was able to accommodate my party of 5. The food is amazing and is a must eat in florence. We came the first night in Florence and had to go back again before we left. All the plates we had were delicious. I love to eat good food and this was even better than good.
For starters we had the marinated zucchini and tomato with burrata. Both were just outstanding. I had the duck pappardelle for my main and my man had the gnocchi. We both enjoyed these immensely. The meal was of course accompanied by a bottle of prosecco - cheers 🥂 To finish we had an espresso and were offered limoncello. Our server Walter was lovely and he said his wife does all the cooking! You wouldn’t know she was doing it all herself it was wonderful 🫶
My family (my wife, me, 2.5 year old, 8 year old) visited Italy and spent two nights in Florence. This spot was good enough that both nights we were in Florence we ate dinner here. After scouring reviews for “Italian restaurants” within walking distance of my hotel my wife stumbled upon this establishment and we were drawn in by the reviews, menu, and photos of menu items…not to mention an English version of the menu. We made reservations only because we were a party of 4 but plenty of couples just walked in and were seated. It could be busier other nights, we went on a Sunday and Monday, around 7:45. The restaurant is small and adequately lit. It is adorned with art and paintings of places in Italy. The manager is Walter and he’s wonderful. My wife and I were a little nervous for how our kids would behave, specifically unsure of our 2 year old’s unpredictable energy level. Walter was very warm and welcoming to my family and especially friendly with our kids. Our food was unreal and came out very quickly. I ordered the cacio e pepe simply because it’s a well known pasta dish and I wanted to eat authentic cacio e pepe in Italy. I ate the braised duck the second night. My wife ate the tagliatelle night 1 and the gnocchi night 2. My 8 year old who is beyond picky ate the grilled tenderloin both nights. (If you normally order medium rare, order medium). My 2 year old ate pici pasta with white meat sauce night 1 and the cacio e Pepe night 2 (so I could eat some). I’m not a food reviewer so I’m not going to unpack every dish we ate, I’ll just say everything was stellar. Walter’s wife is the chef and a goddess in the kitchen. We spent a little over $100 each night. I also ordered some drinks that were 8-10€ a piece. We were also a party of 4 so a couple of a solo diner could spend less. Between the atmosphere, customer service, and menu items, this place exceeds a 5/5 rating. I don’t know when we will visit Florence again, but we will be visiting this restaurant again.
