A Perfect, Peaceful Escape in Florence! My partner and I recently stayed at the Columbus Urban Resort Firenze during a vacation trip, and it was an absolutely flawless experience from start to finish. The hotel fully earns its 5-star ratings across every single category, making it a wonderful place to relax and unwind. One of the best aspects of this hotel is its peaceful, tranquil atmosphere. It is a wonderfully nice and quiet property, offering a serene escape away from the constant noise and hectic rush of the crowded tourist zones. While it is tucked away in a calmer area, getting into the heart of Florence is still very easy and convenient; a quick taxi ride to the city center costs around 18 euros, which is quite reasonable for the comfort and quietness you get in return. The accommodations themselves were a major highlight of our stay, earning a definitive 5 stars for the rooms. We stayed in a deluxe room, which was incredibly spacious at a generous 30 square meters. The layout was beautifully designed, clean, and offered plenty of space to unpack, stretch out, and fully relax after a long day of walking around and sightseeing. Additionally, both the service and the overall hospitality were stellar. The staff was incredibly welcoming, professional, and attentive to our needs throughout the entire holiday, ensuring everything was smooth and comfortable. If you are looking for a relaxing, high-quality, and peaceful retreat for a couple's vacation in Florence, I highly recommend this resort. We had a beautiful stay and would definitely return
Our stay at Columbus Urban Resort Firenze was absolutely exceptional. As a couple, we had an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We stayed in a suite, which was beautifully designed, spacious, and extremely comfortable—perfect for a relaxing and romantic getaway. Every detail was thoughtfully curated, making our stay feel truly special. The spa was outstanding—peaceful, luxurious, and the ideal place to unwind. It added a whole new level of relaxation to our trip. The breakfast was also excellent, with a wide variety of high-quality options that made every morning a pleasure. What truly made the difference, though, was the staff. Their professionalism, kindness, and attention to detail were remarkable. A special mention to the entire team for making us feel so welcome and cared for throughout our stay. Highly recommended for couples looking for a perfect stay in Florence. We will definitely be back!
We had a rather disappointing experience at this hotel. The check-in process took 45 minutes (from 11:30 PM to 12:15 AM), which was especially exhausting as we were traveling with an 8-year-old child late at night. The staff member at the reception was friendly and polite, which we appreciated. However, the overall process and organization were still very inefficient. The pricing was also not transparent. We booked three rooms (€140, €160, €160), and were then additionally charged €16 per room as city tax, which had not been clearly communicated in advance, despite explicitly asking for the final total beforehand. Even more concerning, we were initially asked to pay city tax for our child, although children under 12 should be exempt. In the end, I paid €32 more than expected. While I understand that some noise is normal in a city hotel, better soundproofing (windows) would significantly improve the stay. Another issue was the lack of flexibility: I had brought special homemade food for my dog due to medical reasons, and asked if it could be stored in a freezer (as there was none in the room). Unfortunately, this was not possible, which made things unnecessarily difficult. Additionally, we had to book three rooms instead of the planned arrangement, as the option with an extra bed could not be prepared. Overall, the stay felt unnecessarily complicated and not very accommodating. I hope the hotel improves communication and flexibility for future guests.
Lovely hotel and all. We enjoyed the spa. The view from the rooftop of the hotel is magnificent. We had breakfast there and the food was freshly made. The bed was very comfortable and once closing the windows you could have a good night sleep. The room was cosy with a mini bar and air conditioning. I gave only 4 stars for it because I don't like having the toilet in the bathroom and the shower enclosure had nice features but if not careful the water would leak onto the bathroom floor. Unfortunately you get this too often in hotel rooms. The staff were very helpful and friendly. It is half an hour away from the centre of Florence but it is easy to get onto a bus. Taxis are also available. Walking distance is ok too. I would recommend this place to all.
