Description
Depart from Florence and relax on the scenic journey to Manarola in the UNESCO World Heritage Site of Cinque Terre. Once you arrive in the village around 10 AM, you will enjoy the silence and the awakening of Manarola from the amazing terrace over the cliffs. This itinerary allows you to avoid too many crowds in the morning. Marvel at the typical case-torri (tower-houses) on arrival, and then continue to Vernazza, overlooked by the remains of a medieval castle. Get some free time to explore the village at your own pace. Next, discover the Pearl of Cinque Terre, the ancient fishing village of Monterosso, known for its lovely beaches and lush vegetation. We will spend here 2 h and half to relax, going shopping in the ancient shops and taste some Ligurian food such as trofie al pesto. Our professional guide will recommend you where to spend your lunch break. Take an optional swim off a sandy beach, before crossing to Riomaggiore by boat. By an hour-long boat crossing, we will admire the colourful Cinque Terre villages from the water towards Portovenere, passing through Byron cave. The worldwide poet Lord Byron came here to catch inspiration for his poems. Take some pictures in the picturesque town of Porto Venere, which city walls date back to 1113 before Christ. Return by boat to La Spezia, where our train will be waiting to take you back comfortable to Florence.Includes
