A night we won’t forget anytime soon. We celebrated our anniversary at Borgo San Jacopo, and it was exactly the kind of experience that justifies the Michelin star. We both chose the “Experience” tasting menu, mine paired with wine, and every course was impeccable - balance, technique, and a warmth that makes you feel like a guest rather than just a customer. The pairings complemented each dish beautifully, and the view over the Arno at sunset is one of the most beautiful settings in Florence for a special dinner. Learning it was our anniversary, they surprised us with a gesture that made the evening truly unforgettable. Thank you to the whole team for the elegance and hospitality - we’ll certainly be back!
Marco was an incredible server and host, and Salvatore’s guidance helped us select two perfect bottles of wine for the evening. The Estate meal was so delicious, each dish complementing the others with distinct and delicious differences as we went through, what a journey. An unforgettable first night in Florence with my family celebrating my wife’s birthday, grazie!!
Visited Borgo San Jacobo during our trip to Florence and it was incredible. We really did not know what to expect as it was our first time in Florence as well as our first Michelin star restaurant. We had the vegetarian set menu and we’ve never experienced such creativity when it came to food especially vegetarian style. We were more than happy with our time there and highly recommend this place if you are in Florence!!
We dined here last night and experienced a contrast between exceptional hospitality and a disappointing dining environment, particularly regarding the "terrace seating." When booking on the website, I specifically selected the terrace option anticipating a scenic river view. The site implied terrace seating is more premium, making the tasting menu mandatory for these tables. In reality, however, we found the terrace space to be significantly oversold. Rather than an open terrace, it was a small, confined balcony arranged with four tables of two in a tight 2x2 configuration. Enclosed by walls on two sides, only one side offers a view of the river. We were seated at an inner table, positioned directly between the balcony door and a neighboring table with a narrow gap where only one person could squeeze past side ways. This layout meant that to see the river, we had to look directly past our fellow diners. Despite being outdoors, the space felt cramped rather than airy. Proximity made it impossible not to overhear the next table's conversation, even though they spoke quietly. We found ourselves strictly looking straight ahead just to avoid eye contact, which made the evening feel quite stressful. For a restaurant with tasting menus starting at €160, we felt this tight layout fell short of expectations. On a positive note, the service was absolutely excellent and easily ranks among the best I have experienced. From the welcoming receptionist to our two attentive waitresses, the staff was wonderful. They were warm without being overbearing, incredibly helpful, and detailed when explaining each dish. Their genuine hospitality was the highlight of our evening.

The service was equally impressive; the staff were incredibly attentive, warm, and professional without ever being intrusive. The atmosphere of the restaurant is simply beautiful—elegant, inviting, and perfectly balanced for a memorable evening. Everything came together flawlessly. Highly recommended.
