Great location in the historic center, but unfortunately, everything else leaves a lot to be desired, especially for a hotel that states it is a 5-star hotel. I had to take allergy pills every single day of the trip because there were dust bunnies under the bed, the housekeepers never cleaned under the bed or dusted the furniture. I asked the front desk to sen the cleaners and even so they did not clean under the bed nor the furniture. When we arrived there was hair in the shower box from previous guests. Breakfast was okay, but very repetitive. Moreover, we arrived later one day and asked the concierge if the bar was still open for food and he said it closed at 12am. At the bar, when I asked for the food menu, the bartenders were confused, gave me the wrong menu and said the kitchen closed at 10pm. When I told them what the concierge had said, they insisted the bar kitchen was closed. As I turned my back, I heard the woman working at the bar cuss in Italian, I guess she felt annoyed about having to work. Overall, the service was very disappointing and our stay was a mediocre experience at best. If you want to be a 5-star hotel, you should train your staff, focus on outstanding service, exceptionally clean rooms and going the extra mile as that is what makes a great hotel.
The rooms are very clean and superbly decorated and comfortable. Mini bar and tea & coffee facilities. Usb ports near the bed and a safe. The bathroom was mostly marble how wonderful! With a bath and shower and double sinks. Only downside was the view from the room was the hotel building.
We stayed at Bernini Palace to celebrate my wife’s birthday. This hotel is perfectly located to visit all the main attractions within a 5-15 minute walk. This hotel is beautifully decorated in fact, I would say stunning, especially the breakfast room which offered a lovely choice of food. The bed rooms are tastefully decorated and spotlessly clean and every single member of staff was absolutely fantastic. I asked the hotel if they could arrange flowers to be placed in the room to celebrate my wife’s birthday which not only did they deliver a beautiful display but also gave her a bottle of bubbly which was lovely. The bar is relaxing place to enjoy a drink especially after a day of sightseeing and also the food at evening dining was excellent. This hotel has a lot to offer and we hope someday to return and enjoy their great hospitality once more. Thank you to everyone at the Bernini. Phil B
This hotel was truly in the heart Florence! It had all the amenities and experiences one could imagine. The personal was supper attentive and always being friendly and helpful with eveything we needed. They had one of the best breakfast I ever experienced in a hotel. It was the typical breakfast but with a twist of all the Italian goods you are craving. The rooms were so beautifully decorated, it made you feel as if you were in a palace. The beds were extremely comfortable and felt refreshed the next time.
The staff of the hotel was incredibly friendly and responsive to all the demands. Also, the communication via email before our trip was flawless. The hotel itself is an architectural masterpiece, with the breakfast hall being the cherry on top. The location is perfect, literally 50m from the Piazza de la Signoria. And let's not forget about the delicious Chianti wine we were being offered upon our arrival. Thank you, Hotel Bernini, for the mirific experience and hope to see you soon!
