We had a wonderful stay at Torre del Castello. The location is perfect, making it easy to enjoy the surrounding area while still having a comfortable and peaceful place to return to. The property was exactly as described, clean, spacious, and very well maintained. The accommodations were comfortable, welcoming, and provided everything we needed for a great stay. Air Conditioning could be better, though functioning, it barely cooled the room. The check-in and check-out experience was superb. The service was professional, smooth, and very helpful from beginning to end, making the entire experience even better. We truly enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend Torre del Castello to anyone looking for a beautiful, comfortable, and well-managed place to stay.
Location was perfect, 10-15 minute walk to almost anywhere we wanted to visit. Easy walks and beautiful views on every walk. The hosts are helpful and easy to talk with, prior to our arrival and during. Room was spacious, clean (& cleaned daily), with stunning views of the river, as we picked the river side room, well worth it! Would highly recommend staying here!
Make sure you get full instructions from the hotel of how to enter. The entrance was not easy to find and the street is busy so when I finally found the entrance and buzzed to get in I couldn’t hear. The room was clean enough but the walls were scraped up and the bed was uncomfortable. I don’t know how the rating is so high for this hotel. I don’t consider myself high maintenance but the pictures were not portrayed the way the room actually is
This is a unique hotel. Each room is different. The entry doors are very large and opened by a motorized pull. The building is old and renovated into apartments and hotel rooms. The reception area is on the 3rd floor. The receptionist is very friendly and helpful but only there from morning till early evening. But you can call someone anytime if emergency assistance is needed. We had a ground level room next to the garden. It was very welcome since it was a quiet space and our hotel in Rome was on a loud street. Our room was quite large with a very tall window. We had plenty of open floor space for movement. The bathroom was fine. Had everything needed. The shower was on the small side but not too terrible with a rainfall showerhead and hand wand. Our favorite part was the high ceiling with a fresco of an angel. It was definitely a special feature that we enjoyed. Ask for room #3 if you want quiet and quaint without sacrificing space.
The cleanliness of this hotel was unacceptable. The floors were dirty, and there was dust on mirrors, lamps, and towel racks. The trash bin lid had built-up grime, and the bathroom surfaces and shelves were not properly cleaned and had visible stains. These are just some examples, not a complete list. The room was also extremely cold. We contacted the hotel by email about the issue, but when we returned later that evening, the room still had not been properly cleaned. We then raised the issue again with the staff. When the cleaner came the following day, she appeared upset. The cleaning improved somewhat afterward, but it was still not up to standard—there was still dust on lamps and mirrors, and even toothpaste left on the bathroom counter after cleaning. The location, however, was excellent. Our room faced a beautiful inner courtyard, which made it very quiet with almost no street noise. I would not recommend staying here.
