Excellent hotel with clean, beautiful rooms and very friendly and helpful staff. Very close to the hotel there is the restaurant Francesco vini that offers real Italian cuisine in an elegant setting for a reasonable price. The hotel has everything that you need in Florence and it is right in the city centre. If I had the chance to go to Florence again I would definitely book a room in this hotel once more.
We just left Florence after a fantastic short visit at Hotel Santa Croce. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hospitality in Italy is generally good, the staff here are great. The room: It is not tiny but on the smaller side. Although since we were out most of the time it was no issue to us at all. The AC was a little loud at night.. but grateful to have one! Bathroom was fine, shower pressure was fine too. Very clean. All in all good. (Also, there is no elevator. Not a complaint just fyi) Service: Was amazing. When we arrived Simone sat us down and gave us a map and a great breakdown of Florence and what to do and where to go. The staff were friendly and very professional. On our departure day they kept our luggage in the reception for us to pick up later after our official check out. Location: Fantastic location. Breakfast: If you like a sweet breakfast, this is for you. Pastries, jams, fruit yoghurt, orange juice, chocolate spread, apples and some packed cookie etc etc. If you like a more savoury breakfast; they had cheese slices, ham, butter, toast and a very basic egg sandwich (with egg and butter, nothing to brag about) some cream cheese and yoghurt. No veggies or whole boiled eggs (that would have been great and feels like an easy improvement). Maybe that is something they will change for our next visit?? :) We were not big fans of the coffee. Although they were very accommodating. Price: For the price, this is as good as it gets. You can find better things, but not for this price and service. I cannot emphasise how lucky we felt for picking this location. Thank you Santa Croce. We will come back!
Location is perfect for exploring Florence by foot. We travelled with a 3 year old and walked to all the major attractions as well as the train station. Hotel rooms are very basic but clean, with nice bed, TV and air conditioning. The hotel is in an old building with an interesting history. The two brothers who own the hotel seemed genuine and we really enjoyed the service which friendly and personable.
We had a great experience in Florence. The hotel owners are very welcoming. The location is perfect. We stayed in the studio, which was lovely. They also offer breakfast. I highly recommend this place!
My husband and I just returned home from an enchanting trip to Florence, and we cannot say enough about the hospitality and helpfulness of Mario and Gabriel! The hotel is a historic building in the center of Florence, a great location that is nearby to all the magnificent museums and cathedrals. Michelangelo grew up next door, and the hotel and street have all the charm of a historic landmark. The rooms are small but sufficient, and we had no issues with heating, as our family members who stayed elsewhere did. The breakfast is simple yet tasty, with as much coffee as you can drink. Both Mario and Gabriel were so solicitous in giving us pointers about where to eat and visit, and Gabriel set up a taxi to take us to the airport, as our flight left at 6:30 a.m. This small act of kindness caused much less stress on us, and we were so appreciative. Florence is gorgeous this time of year, with Christmas decorations and fewer tourists, and our experience was made even lovelier by our stay at Hotel Santa Croce!
