Bargello Museum

Bargello Museum is located in an impressive building erected around the middle of the 13th century to house the Capitano del Popolo before becoming the site of the Podestà and the Council of Justice.
Beginning in 1865, it became the Bargello National Museum and housed some of the most important Renaissance sculptures, including masterpieces of Donatello, Luca della Robbia, Verrocchio, Michelangelo, and Cellini.
The museum then expanded to include collections of bronzes, maiolica, waxwork, glazes, medals, ivory, amber, tapestries, furniture, seals, and fabrics, in part from Medici collections and in part from private donations.
Visiting hours - Daily: 8:15am - 1:50pm
The ticket office closes at 1:20pm
Closed on the 1st, 3rd and 5th Sunday and 2nd and 4th Monday of each month; New Year’s Day, May 1st and Christmas Day.
