Your chef for the day is a true Florentine, born and raised in Sant’Ambrogio neighborhood, the food district of the city. For those selecting the morning tour (apart from Sundays and Bank Holidays), your journey will begin with a visit to one of Florence’s oldest and most authentic markets: Sant'Ambrogio Market. This hidden gem, beloved by locals, offers a true taste of Tuscan tradition. As you explore the bustling market, you’ll wander through colorful stalls brimming with fresh seasonal produce, aromatic herbs, and artisanal products. Breathe in the irresistible scents of freshly baked bread, aged cheeses, and cured meats, while engaging with friendly vendors eager to share their passion and expertise. The chef will then open for you the doors of their kitchen and will give you all the tips to cook just the perfect Fiorentina directly on the grill, like a real pro. Bistecca alla Fiorentina is the staple of Florentine cuisine. Cooked rigorously on the grill, it’s a special cut of Chianina beef seasoned only with salt and extra virgin olive oil. Its meat is extremely tender and juicy and must be served rare, to better enjoy its incredible taste. Learn all the steps in cooking such a life-changing world-famous dish with the help of the chef. They will wisely guide you through the whole process, advising you on the best techniques to cook it to absolute perfection. But first things first! Let’s start with an appetizer: nothing better than some bruschettas to tickle your appetite. After a quick aperitivo, time for the main guest of the day: her majesty, the Florentine steak. Watch the chef literally cuddle it, as it slowly cooks on the grill and its mouthwatering smell fills the kitchen. Once the steak is ready, let’s put it aside for a few minutes to rest and let’s prepare some side dishes to enhance its flavor.
